ARE CHEMICAL PEELS PAINFUL?

A Chemical Peel is a non-invasive epidermal exfoliation treatment that’s designed to improve the appearance of your skin and allow fresher and healthier skin to regenerate following the treatment.

A chemical solution is applied to the skin, which causes the top-most outer layers to exfoliate. This exfoliation allows your skin to regenerate and look healthier and more vibrant.

There are several benefits of chemical peels because they promote new skin cell regeneration, as well as stimulate the formation of collagen and elastin in your skin. Chemical Peels can improve uneven skin tones related to hyperpigmentation, age spots, acne scarring, excessive oil, breakouts, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles!

Your skin might be pink or slightly red, depending on your tolerance and the level of chemical peel you chose for your treatment. Any redness usually subsides within 48 hours, and skin peeling will begin around the third day. Your skin may peel for the next five to seven days.
If you are looking to peel over a weekend, to minimize social downtime, we recommend receiving your chemical peel on a Wednesday. Most of your peeling will be over the weekend!
We also recommend being out of a mask for the duration of your peeling process to minimize the risk of scarring, hyperpigmentation, and infection!

When you arrive for your chemical peel treatment, you’ll fill out a brief medical history, which your aesthetician evaluates. Your skin will then be cleansed to remove makeup and debris. A degreaser is then applied to prepare the skin for the chemical peel. A chemical solution is applied to the skin, which will cause the skin to peel within a couple of days. After the procedure, a post-peel balm cream and sunscreen are applied to your skin.
